Elevate Your Skills: Diving into Aerial Arts at Get A Grip Trapeze

If you're seeking an adventure that defies gravity and ignites your spirit, Get A Grip Trapeze in Chicago's Edgewater Neighborhood has an array of aerial arts classes that promise an exhilarating experience like no other. From Flying Trapeze to Trampoline, Lyra, Silks, Aerial Sling, and Static Trapeze, the school offers an eclectic mix of circus-based classes, each designed to challenge, inspire, and empower participants of all skill levels. Check out the different class options below.

Flying Trapeze: Soar to New Heights

A quintessential circus art, Flying Trapeze sets the stage for heart-pounding excitement. Imagine leaping off a 22-foot platform, swinging through the air, and performing daring tricks on a bar. But there's more—the thrill reaches its peak when you execute a handoff to a catcher on another bar across the rig. With a diverse range of tricks waiting to be mastered, you'll progress from basics like knee hangs to backflips. Safety is paramount, with coaches guiding you through each step. The thrill of being caught by a catcher is unforgettable, and many students achieve this feat in their very first class.

Trampoline: Bounce into Adventure

Enhance your aerial awareness and fitness with Trampoline classes at Get A Grip Trapeze. Whether you're a flyer looking to complement your skills or simply seeking a fun way to improve your agility, these classes offer a blend of basic trampoline tricks and advanced techniques. As you progress, you can even venture into Trampoline Wall, where you "walk" and bounce higher on the wall until you conquer the top.

Lyra: Grace and Poise on the Hoop

Discover the enchanting world of Lyra, also known as the hanging hula hoop. Suspended from one or two points, this steel or aluminum hoop offers an opportunity to learn spins, drops, and positions. With the option of static or spinning routines, you can craft solo or doubles performances that showcase your grace and creativity.

Silks: Embrace Elegance and Strength

Silks, often mistaken for hanging bedsheets, are a breathtaking apparatus that test your upper body strength. Learn to climb, wrap, spin, and drop while gracefully navigating the fabric. The movements and challenges of silks come alive in these classes, where you'll develop a deeper connection to the art of aerial performance.

Aerial Sling: Swing into Creativity

Similar to silks, Aerial Sling, also known as Aerial Hammock, offers a unique twist. The fabric forms a loop, allowing for bouncing, flipping, and creative moves that captivate the senses. These classes provide a dynamic and engaging experience that combines physicality with artistic expression.

Static Trapeze: A Dance of Strength and Flexibility

Dive into the world of Static Trapeze, where strength, flexibility, and artistry merge in mesmerizing combinations. Unlike its flying counterpart, the static trapeze remains relatively still, providing a platform for learning dynamic movements and striking poses that redefine your boundaries.

At Get A Grip Trapeze, the possibilities of aerial arts are endless. With passionate instructors, a supportive community, and a commitment to safety, each class becomes a transformative journey. From the adrenaline rush of Flying Trapeze to the grace of Lyra, these classes offer not just physical challenges but also opportunities for self-discovery and artistic expression. So, whether you're seeking to defy gravity, conquer fears, or embrace a new passion, the world of aerial arts awaits your daring spirit at Get A Grip Trapeze.

With around 12 years of trapeze experience, she brings a touch of quirkiness to her coaching methods, often accompanied by her signature array of humorous voices when giving instructions.
