2022 Schedule:
Heatwave Music Festival was attended by Chicago To Do List.
Heatwave Music Festival was the perfect mid-summer festival. In the middle of July, with warm weather, but not as hot as August, this is surely the best time for a music festival, soaking in all of what Chicago summer has to offer. Smaller than larger festivals such as Lollapalooza, the entry, bathroom, food & drink lines weren’t as long. Heatwave had a lot of pop-art, displays, and interactive areas that made for great photo-ops! There were three stages; The Reverie, The Inevitable, and The Radiance. The park itself was not large, so getting to and from the different stages was easy and could be done in 5 minutes or less. There were numerous covered areas as well, which was super nice to cool off from the heat. The drinks were a bit pricey, as any music festival would be, and they didn’t have any wine options. The food options consisted mainly of pizza and tacos, with a few other cuisines. We particularly loved the extra-large slices of New York-style pizza! Above & Beyond was one of the best performances at the festival, and everyone at all the headliners were vibing and dancing. The light shows on the stages made the experience even better. The music festival was very accessible via the train just a few blocks away. If you’re looking for a chill, smaller music festival with an incredible EDM lineup, Heatwave Music Festival is the one to attend! Stay tuned for the lineup and schedule for 2023.
